Job Duties:
- Assist elderly residents in a care home facility with daily living support with feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and ambulation.
- Administer bedside care to elderly residents, monitoring vital signs and provide medication monitoring and management under the direction of a registered nurses or medical professional.
- Provide personalized assistance to elderly residents with disabilities or long-term memory care.
- May provide help with tasks such as preparing meals, doing light housekeeping, and doing laundry.
- Prepare and maintain records of client progress and services performed, reporting changes in client condition to manager or supervisor.
- Participate in discussions about the client with the rest of the health care team, including the physician, nurses, and others, as needed to determine the best solutions for client care.
- Provide counseling and care to families of the clients during stressful times, including adjustment periods for new lifestyles or a loved one’s deteriorating health.

Education Requirements: None
Experience Requirements: 24 months of experience in job offered, Personal Caregiver, or closely related.
Special skills requirements:
- Administering bedside care to an adult with medical needs in a care facility setting
- Cleaning caregiving facilities and bathing an adult with medical needs, to ensure a clean and healthy environment
- Dispensing medications to an adult with medical needs according to orders from medical professionals.
- Tracking care, medications, and activities of daily living for an adult with medical needs.
- Experience with the preparation of meals for adults with medical needs.
- Ability to manage a care routine for adults with medical needs. This includes properly managing the time of medications, meals, and hygiene care.
- Communicate with families regarding the medical needs and care of their loved ones.
